My doctor just came into check me. I am 50-60 percent effaced, maybe dilated to a 1. The nurse bumped up my pitocin again.

I am really not frustrated because I knew this process would take along time and I am not in any pain. I was in more pain on friday night when I was having contractions for 8 hours every 15 minutes.

I think its going to take some effort to get Joelson out. He likes it in there all warm and cozy I guess. I am having regular contractions but they are very light.

I hope to see my doctor again soon so he can tell me if I have made any progress.

Joe went home to eat lunch and check on Cadet. He took a picture of Cadet laying at the bottom of the stairs looking all sad. He misses his mommy.

My mom is here with me but she is passed out on the cot. The suites here at the Valley Hospital are very nice and big. I will deliver in this room when it comes time.

My nurse just came in to bump up my "Pit" as they call it here in the hospital. (Pitocin)

Waiting for baby....

So we are sitting here in the hospital waiting for Joelson to come. We arrived last night at about 8:30 pm. I was given a pill internally at 10 pm to "ripen my cervix" then another at 2 am. I was having contractions this morning but they were not bad just noticeable about every 5 minutes.

They started me on pitocin at 6 am and my contractions were coming every two to three minutes but were still bearable.

My doctor came in at about 7 am this morning and was surprised that my contractions were coming so fast so he decided to lower my dose of pitocin because he didn't want the baby to wear out to quickly.

So since then they lowered the pitocin, raised it and then raised it again. It is now 10 am.

More updates to come....maybe. :)

TO THE HOSPITAL!

This morning we had our 39 week appointment. I am being induced as of this evening at 8 pm. They are going to give me medication to "ripen my cervix" instead of giving me pitocin right away so we are starting early, instead of tomorrow like previously planned. My doctor said I will be having contractions but I should be able to sleep through them.

So tomorrow my doctor said we are going to "battle it out" I don't really like the term battle but I guess that is what I will be doing, fighting to get my baby out.

So wish me luck and pray that I will have a safe easy delivery. Pray that Joe will be calm and be able to comfort me and pray that little Joelson with come with ease and be as healthy as a horse.

False Alarm

Yesterday was my last day of work and I started feeling yucky at about 3 pm. I started having regular contractions every 15 minutes when I got home from work about 5 pm. I continued to have contractions until about 11 pm. My mom was concerned so she drove over and arrived here at 2:45 am last night. (she is still in bed sleeping this morning) She deserves it since she is super mom. I feel bad because my contractions stopped but I am glad she is here. She has been the best mom ever these past several months. I am lucky to have her. AWWW I love you mom!

So maybe Joelson will come early or he is just preparing me for Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Our bags are packed!

Induced!

So I am scheduled to be induced at 6 am on Wednesday April 14th. So unless baby Joelson decides to make an early appearance he should be born that day.

Please pray that I will have a fast easy labor. I am not sure what to expect since my pregnancy has been relatively easy.

My last day of work is tomorrow and I will be back to work on July 6th.

I am very excited and even more excited to know when the big day will be….I feel like a kid the night before Christmas!

Baby Dreams

I had a dream last night that I took Joelson out and held him in front of me...he seemed too short so I put him back in....weird baby dreams...

I had an ultrasound with my doctor 2 weeks ago for my 36 week appointment. My doctor was getting measurements saying that the baby was already 8 ½ pounds with 4 weeks to go before my April 20th due date (40 weeks). So I was a little worried. And I was only 30% effaced which really means not dilated at all.

My 37 week appointment I had high blood pressure and my doctor was very concerned. He wanted me to come in on Monday and get re-checked. Also Joelson’s heart beat was 190 beats per minute which is not normal for him, his heart rate has been in the 140 range lately. So the doctor put me on a machine for 20 minutes to monitor his heart beat and it turned out fine.

On Monday I went to have my blood pressure checked and it was normal. Which is good because I am still working and I want to work as long as possible. I was afraid the doctor would put me on bed rest and I was not looking forward to that.

This morning (my 38 week appointment) I had another ultrasound to check the baby’s weight again and the ultrasound technician got a reading of 7 pounds and 11 oz which made me a much happier camper! I am still 30% effaced but the doctor told me that after my 39 week appointment which is on Tuesday the 13th that basically I can choose what I want to do whether it be to ride it out or be induced. I have to weigh my options today….

So I might be having baby Joelson soon. I am very excited to meet him. Not only because I am very uncomfortable but I just want to start our new life with him.

Exciting News...My parents bought our baby crib on Saturday. It is in a darker wood then this though, more like chocolate.

Joe is in New York right now for work and I have my 17 week appointment today. There is officially 2 more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby. We are so excited.
After my appointment I am going to buy the matching dresser that goes with the crib. And someone that called me from Craigslist is coming to pick up my work out TV right now. I need that stuff outta there to make room for baby furniture! YAY

Last night I "nested" (I dont think that is until later) but I cleared out my closet and made room for all my new maternity clothes. Thanks Becca, Tanya and Meaghan! I love all my friends with babies, it's great!

Hello again,

We had our 13 week appointment yesterday. Nothing to exciting except for we did get to hear the heartbeat again. Which is good because I still don't believe that there is anything inside me. It's funny, as soon as someone finds out I am pregnant they always ask the same question with pity, "Ohhh...how are you feeling?" I respond, "Great, couldn't be better!" Then they look at me like I am psycho. I get a kick out of it.

Some exciting news to look forward to...we get to find out the sex of the baby the day before Thanksgiving. We are very excited!!

Hello all,

I have not blogged lately because we have been busy! Busy with work, play and some other things that I won’t mention….

I am mainly writing to announce that Joe and I are pregnant! Here are the first pictures of our little baby.

I am 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant. We got to hear the heartbeat and see the little guy/girl moving around yesterday. It was pretty amazing!

I am feeling really great and have had no nausea. I think I am one of the lucky ones.

Mexico...err umm I mean Hawaii!

Well as some of you may know we were planning a trip to Mexico for vacation with our friends Danny and Michele. The dates were set, we had our passports, flights, hotel...everything until the Swine Flu hit! We were supposed to leave on May 2 and stay until the 10th in Mazatlan. We were watching the news closely and deciding what to do and 3 days before we were supposed to leave the government websites put out an alert to avoid non-essential travel. So we did, we changed our flights and destination. Hawaii was the new plan and everything couldn't have fallen into place any better then it did. It was meant to be! We actually got money back on our flights, our condo was amazing and a fantastic price. It was just absolutely perfect. We had a fantastic time and want to go back as soon as we can! We stayed in Princeville, Kauai.

We decided to go snowboarding at Silver Mountain in Idaho on Presidents Day since I had it off. (It's nice to work at a bank.)

Here is a picture of Joe and I in the gondola on the ride up the hill. It's mainly to show my new sweet teal Burton pants.

This was the first time I have been snowboarding in Spokane ever. The last time we went was maybe before we were married. I think I am better now then I was before due to my impressive wake boarding skills. Although I hate the chairlift...it sucks, I am not good at that at all. But I think I made a good impression on Joe and my brother.

Talk to everyone later. I know I haven't blogged since the beginning of the New Year and I am trying to cram it all in, in one night but I think you should just take what you can get.

Dear Family and Friends;

This year I decided not to do my normal Christmas letter. Since I blog a few times a month I figured this would be a better way of letting you all know what is going on in our lives plus pictures, videos and slide shows are way better then a piece of paper. If you don’t already have a Blog I highly encourage you to create one. This website is fairly easy to navigate and if you need help just ask me, I am a pro.

Joe is still at Best Buy calibrating TV’s for customers at their homes. He enjoys it but he is overworked, I hope he doesn’t get burnt out.

I am still at Sterling Savings bank. I enjoy my job and I really like being involved in these meetings we call Kaizen’s but with Kaizen always brings change and that is not always easy. Every time I am involved in them it seems like I get more responsibility. It is good because I am always busy but more and more responsibility is not always fun.

Cadet is still Cadet and Ashes is still Ashes. They are our babies and we love them both dearly.

The basement is days away from being finished. Joe is actually working on it right now. My parents are coming to celebrate Christmas tomorrow. I am very excited to see them but I will be working most of the time they are here which is a big bummer. At least we get Christmas day off.

We can’t wait to see what this year holds for us and we hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Here is a video I took of Cadet running through the snow. He absolutely loves it.

Sterling Savings branches and offices in the Spokane area were all closed today so I didn't have to work. I haven't had a snow day since high school back in Olympia!! Other things that were not running; Sacred Heart Hospital canceled all scheduled surgery's today, the post office was closed, garbage service, city employees and the mall even closed. The news was reporting only if you had an emergency should you drive. It sure was a crazy day here in Spokane.

Joe went to work since we live so close and he has his big truck with 4 wheel drive. My brother came over later in the day because he was playing in the snow with his jeep. He drove me to the grocery store and it was absolutely insane! People were walking in the middle of the street since the sidewalks were so covered.

It was quite an experience and one we were surely never forget.

The first Winter Wonderland of 08

It took me 2 1/2 hours to get home from work today. First my bus was an hour and a half late picking us up and then about 5 blocks later it got stuck. My nice friend Crystal and her boyfriend Trevor came to the rescue and drove me the rest of the way home. It snowed about 10 inches at our house in 9 hours today. But when I was finally home I went outside and played with Cadet in the fresh fallen snow. Check out my pictures...

So I am obsessed with the Twilight series, I admit it. I read the first book in 4 days and this is quite a stretch for me since I never - ever read anything. But I saw the preview the weekend before and it made me curious about the book so I asked to borrow it from my friend Amanda at work. Couldn’t put it down…and seriously couldn’t stop thinking about it. I loved it so much! So I made Joe take me to the movie last Sunday and would have gone and seen it again right after if I could. I am currently reading the second book in the series called New Moon. I asked for the hard backs from my mom for Christmas so I can read them all over again! YAY

VEGAS!!!

Well, well, well….now that we are back from our Vegas trip and back to reality I can share what we did and some pictures to go along with the stories. Joe and I went to Vegas with 5 other friends and stayed at The Planet Hollywood Resort Monday through Thursday, four FULL days. We had a blast!!

We decided to go high class this trip so we all went in and got a limo to the airport at 5 am on Monday morning. It was early but nice to get to Vegas at 10:30 am. We checked into our hotel and went straight to the pool. It was nice because it wasn’t very crowded due to it being during the week. That night we got a VIP table at Prive in Planet Hollywood. It was very expensive but way worth it. I would go again. And having your own table is very nice since us girls were wearing very trendy painful high heels. ;)

Tuesday we slept in since we were up until 5 am at the club. Then Tanya and I went to a spa in the Mandalay Bay hotel called The Bathhouse. It was AMAZING, so beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, steam room, pool and sauna before our aromatherapy stone massages. It was wonderful and so nice to be in such a beautiful place. Later that night we went to Zumanity the show at New York, New York. It was good….not as good as Blue Man group but still good.

Wednesday we walked around the strip and went into various hotels. I wanted to go up in the Eiffel Tower in the Paris hotel so Joe and I did that well the others went to the Stratosphere for the crazy rides. It is so pretty up there you can see the Bellagio fountain perfectly and we loved it. I drank a spendy glass of French champagne and it was so good, what an experience! Maybe someday we can go to the real Eiffel Tower and drink French champagne…that’s okay I can live with the next best thing until then. Later that night we went to another club ROK at New York, New York. It was also fun but very loud. Like really loud. Everyone left except Joe and I and we danced the night away.

By Thursday we were exhausted. I requested late checkout and we got it. Thank goodness sleeping in is good. Our flight wasn’t until 7:30 that night so we had some time to kill. We walked around a bit and then just decided to go to the airport since we were so tired.

It was a very good trip with great friends I would do it again but I think we will wait a few years. ;) Hope you enjoyed our pictures!

We got our buffet and 6 chairs. They brought the table but there was something wrong with it so we sent it back and are patiently waiting for a new one. But that is okay we can eat at the island for now. I can wait. :)

Progress...on the basement.

We finished painting the basement this week. The colors we used are fun so I am going to list them for you. In the little bedroom, hallway and ceilings we used Mirage White. In the bigger bedroom we used Gobi Desert. And in the rec room area we used a two tone idea with Brown Teepee on the top half and Traditional (a dark brown) on the bottom.

Next we need to finish the drywall in the bathroom and laundry room. Then paint and finally carpet. We are hoping to be finished by Christmas since we are hosting it this year. Wish us luck!

For our 5th Wedding Anniversary we decided to have a little fun. We stayed in a theme hotel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Our room’s theme was the Montana Room. There was lots of cowboy and outdoor décor and even a bear on the wall. Complete with a Jacuzzi in the room. We spent the day downtown Coeur d’Alene and walked around the shops and on the pier around the lake. We went to dinner at The Cedars Floating Restaurant and had tasty seafood. It was great.

A crazy summer....to busy to blog!

I just realized that I have really neglected my blogger. So I thought I would post. We have had many events this summer. Mostly weddings and Clint came to visit. It seems like time has flown by. We are really making progress on our basement. We just have a few finishing touches on the paint. Then we will need to carpet. I will post those pictures when I get my camera back from Will!

August 5th was my 26th Birthday. We went out and celebrated with friends.

Joe and I just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and we decided to stay in a hotel and have dinner in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It was very nice. We have come a long way!

This weekend is the long awaited Dave Matthews Band Concert at the Gorge in George! We have a big group of friends coming so that should be fun. Joe and I also have all next week off so we can wait for our time off. Oh and my brother is moving out! YAY for that! It was nice to have him here but it will also be nice to see him go and be on his own.

And one more piece of news…since my brother is moving out Joe said he could have the dining room table so that means I get a new one!!! We ordered it last night!

Summer plans, YAY!

So umm yeah we are once again making the trip to The Gorge. The Gorge in George that is. (not too far) We are going to see Dave Matthews Band play at the end of Aug! HECK YES! So super excited. Last year was a blast! "Cant wait, cant wait, cant wait." -quoted Autumn!

Also we are going to Vegas at the end of Sept with friends. BFF Tanya and Scott, also Eric and soon to be wife Stephanie. That should be fun had by all. We are staying at the new Planet Hollywood Hotel. It is located across from the Billagio. Last time we went was for Joe's birthday in 2006! Too long ago for sure.

So I havent really been into this Blogger...until tonight! This is a random shot on a random Friday night. I thought I should have as many shots as possible of my new hair cut. I think I will cut it once more short and then grow it out again.

Then who knows maybe I will go and get preggo and then cut it when the baby comes. That sounds like a great plan...I am sure my mom would agree. No doubt!

Anywho...that reminds me of Autumn! YAY I love Autumn and Tanya and everyone.

We were outside last weekend...first nice weekend since last year I swear! Just fooling around in the yard and somehow decided it was a good idea to ride Cadet! WHAT? He is 101 pounds! He can handle it. We love our favorite Chocolate Lab, Cadet!

So last month sometime??? My brother moved in with us. Joe decided to help him out and give him a job at Best Buy. He is currently living with us. (six month min) It's alright having another roommate. I do like having the place to ourselves but he isnt here all the time so it works out. Here we are at his favorite new bar, Big Al's.

My first tattoo!

So last month my best friend Tanya came to visit and I had been thinking about getting a tattoo for many years now. I wanted Tanya to come with me because she is close to my heart and she has three tattoo's herself so I thought she could help me through it. I had this idea in my head of a Fleur de Lis for a few years now. I have seen many different versions of the symbol and finally decided on the one I got on my right foot.

The fleur-de-lis (or fleur-de-lys; plural: fleurs-de-lis) is a stylized design of either an iris or a lily and is used both decoratively and symbolically. It may be purely ornamental or it may be "at one and the same time political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic and symbolic",[1] especially in heraldry. While it has appeared on countless European coats of arms and flags over the centuries, the fleur-de-lis is particularly associated with the French monarchy on a historical context, and nowadays with the Spanish monarchy as the only remaining monarchs of the House of Bourbon (Anjou Bourbon). It is an enduring symbol of France, but, being regarded most notably as the emblem of the monarchy, was not adopted officially by any of the French republics. December 2007

Dear Family and Friends,

This year went by super quick! A lot has happened in our lives this past year…

Working for Sterling Savings Bank has been a great thing for me so far. The beginning was a little rocky but everything got all ironed out. I am involved in a bunch of leadership things so that is awesome. I love what I do and couldn’t see myself anywhere else. Except maybe in a nicer office but we can’t have everything we want now can we? Maybe someday…I am working my way up. Oh and if you can’t remember what I am doing I am processing Consumer Loans…Paperwork all day I completely love it!

Joe is trucking along at Best Buy (over 4 years) still doing Home Theater Installs. He loves every minute of it, well almost. He is working plenty of overtime this month especially. He now has his second assistant so that is really nice for him. Our companies have both treated us very well. We are really lucky.

March we went to Arizona with my parents to visit with my Grandpa Abel and MJ. We also got to see the Grand Canyon but I was really sick so it wasn’t as much fun for me as it could have been…oh well. It was also my mom’s 50th birthday, which I think she seems to be pretty proud of! She looks absolutely gorgeous! I love you MOM!

May and June were entirely too busy for us. WOW we had company seriously every weekend and I am not even exaggerating one bit. It was a blast though. Memorial Day Weekend Clint came camping with us and a big group on friends on Coeur d’ Alene in Idaho. It was fun but it rained and it was cold. Burr. The weekend after all my best friends from high school came and we went to Silverwood Themepark and partied it up. Next weekend my friend Jessica and her boyfriend flew in for a wedding and stayed with us. That was nice to see them. Then Joe’s sister Cari and Stephen came with Abby and Ashlyn. We went out to dinner one night, I made dinner another night and then Thursday night we went out on the boat and Joe forgot to put the plug in! That was almost a disaster but he jumped in the water like a superhero and saved us and the boat. Thank goodness! Friday my grandpa and MJ came to take us out to dinner. They were on their way up to Alaska so we were the stopping point which was nice to see them again.

August we went to a few weddings (4)….one included was my cousin Nick and his new wife Maggie. That was nice to see some family we haven’t seen in a while….(Mark and Gary…they didn’t even come to our wedding!!!) Oh well it was nice to see everyone! We also went to Joe’s nephews wedding over in Seattle, yep that’s right nephew. I have nieces and nephews that are married! That is what you get when you marry into a huge family!

September we went to the Dave Matthews Band concert at the Gorge and then followed it up with camping with friends at Lake Roosevelt. It was an incredible weekend. I will remember it forever and why wouldn’t I…it was with my all time favorite people on this planet, Tanya, Autumn, Clint and Joe! Fantastic!

With our extremely busy summer we still had time to enjoy the boat! I took up wakeboarding last year but I really got the hang of it this year. Joe is so impressed with me! It is a lot of fun; next year maybe I can jump the whole wake like Joe! Joe is a superstar at wakeboarding by the way. It is so much fun to watch what he can do. Also if you’re in the area let us know and we will take you out on the lake, no problem!

November we went over to Steve and Sandy’s home in Wilbur for Thanksgiving. My parents, brother, Bob & Betty, and Brice all came. It was nice to see everyone and Steve and Sandy have been working so hard on the house it was nice for everyone to see it. And it was nice not to worry about Thanksgiving this year…I have held it the past 3 years at our house in Spokane. Friday my mom and I went shopping of course while my dad and brother recuperated. Joe had to work at 4:30 the day after Thanksgiving, a tradition that he hates…but that is what you get when you work in retail!

Now of course it’s December and we are looking forward to coming home for Christmas to see family and friends! Supposedly Joe and I are holding an “Ugly Christmas Sweater” party here next weekend but Joe is “bah humbug” about it. I think he has been working a little too much….but since he just went to California with friends he can’t complain that much! Oh yes last weekend he went to the USC and UCLA football game in Los Angeles with two guys from work. He is already talking about taking another “guy” trip. HA

Awww my first post ever!

So ummmm I have been admiring all our relatives and friends Blogs and decided to make one for ourselves too. I dont really have much to say other then the fact that we are sitting at home on a Wednesday night watching tv. Like normal...

hmmm what's new? Well we are just waiting for Thanksgiving to see family and eat turkey. I have already started my Christmas shopping and about 25% done...the problem is I keep finding stuff to buy for me! What? I cant help it if shopping makes me happy.

Well I am glad I have at least one post under my belt.
